Old Friends Benefit – February 28
What was young yesterday would have grown old today. What is young today will become old tomorrow. Nothing can remain eternally young and it would do well for all to remember this truth. We should, therefore, not cast away what was once young and useful, but care for it I its old age too. Many animals that have been so useful to us when they were young are easily forgotten and allowed to wither and perish when they are old.
It is truly heartening to note there is a home for old thoroughbred horses called “Old friends” – a very apt name in the circumstances o remember the services rendered by these silent beings – situated in Georgetown, Kentucky. These horses are no more useful for racing or breeding, but their services are remembered with fondness and are made to feel wanted. Louisville’s Seelbach Hilton will be hosting a dinner and bourbon tasting under the title “Old Friends Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail” on February 28, 2009 in order to express solidarity and help the home for the retired thoroughbred horses. Tickets are available at $100 per head and hotel has shown its gesture by offering a reduced room rental at $75 for the night. The inaugural event was marked by a live and silent auction the proceeds of which will go to the Old Friends. An array of chosen items have been put up for auction which include an amazing signed and numbered giclee print, called Clydesdale #18, by the famous equine or horses painter Katie Upton. A rare and unique pottery sculpture called “Horse # 16” by Texas artist Richard T. Hess is also put up for sale and also tickets for two for Orchestra and other events. Then there is lovely four color print of Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro and Triple Crown which is on auction too.The event is a rare one and thoroughbred horses deserve this recognition. Reproduce Your Art With A Quality Giclee Print
Giclee printing is a high-quality way to reproduce art in an authentic and cost-effective manner. If you are a painter or other type of artist, you may create a work where you want to make a few copies. You may even want to make a canvas print as opposed to a paper print to make the piece more high-quality. Giclee printing will allow you to print high-quality copies of your art on canvas – and you can do as many or as few as you want, so the cost will be effective to what you need. Giclee printing works as follows: the original art is scanned in a high-quality drum scanner, and is then printed on the canvas (or whatever material you choose) on a very high end inkjet printer. A giclee print is always made with lightfast ink, meaning that, if preserved well and kept out of the sun, the art should retain its original vibrant colors for a long time. Not only that, but giclee printers are so high quality that there are no dots or lines from the printer visible – the reproduction will look just like the original painting or artwork in quality. The only way someone will know the giclee print is a reproduction will be if they are an expert, or if you tell them!

Giclee Print Art
If you are looking for an alternative to acquiring original pieces of art then you should consider your options in terms of reproduced art. Although people love to look at originals for the most part it is the appearance of such works that matters and if you get good enough reproduction that will be just fine for most people provided it comes at a cost savings. Very few people are discerning enough with their art or have a large enough budget to insist on getting original pieces. When looking for reproductions modern technology has opened up the door to many options. From low-end poster like reprints to high-end and hard to distinguish reproductions you have many options available to you. If you are running a business like a hotel though then this is where reproduction technology will come in most handy. This is because you can then pick a few pieces and have them reproduced for your many rooms and properties. Giclee print technology is among the best for providing you with a lower cost but extremely high quality option. Giclee printing makes use of digital capture and storage of paintings and then uses very high quality inkjet printers to make amazing reproductions.
