Louisville’s Seelbach Hilton will be hosting a dinner and bourbon tasting under the title “Old Friends Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail” on February 28, 2009 in order to express solidarity and help the home for the retired thoroughbred horses. Tickets are available at $100 per head and hotel has shown its gesture by offering a reduced room rental at $75 for the night. The inaugural event was marked by a live and silent auction the proceeds of which will go to the Old Friends. An array of chosen items have been put up for auction which include an amazing signed and numbered giclee print, called Clydesdale #18, by the famous equine or horses painter Katie Upton. A rare and unique pottery sculpture called “Horse # 16” by Texas artist Richard T. Hess is also put up for sale and also tickets for two for Orchestra and other events.
